The WannaCry ransomware attack in 2017 disrupted around 81 NHS Trusts. At the time of the attack, we were working with one of the worst-hit organisations, partnering on an EPR implementation. The Trust required an agile response to allow it to recover and refocus.
To help get them get back on track, we implemented a cyber-attack recovery plan involving:
- A 42% increase in training classes
- Managing dual running assurance activities
- Data quality improvements
- Data migration improvements and automation
This meant delaying the go-live date by two months, supplementing services and altering the project plan, deliverables, and milestones. We also provided a reporting service. The implementation was delivered in line with the revised timetable and budget.
