Scott trained as a Tailor and Industrial Engineer and progressed to designing, building, and running manufacturing plants in the UK, India, and China. Always passionate about technology he started to introduce computer systems in the 1980’s across manufacturing and retail businesses.
In 2000 Scott, as CIO, developed the technology platforms for Boots Opticians and Wellbeing Services including several start up services, before moving to BUPA where he led information technology for its provisioning businesses (Hospitals, care homes, and nurseries). AS CTO for Virgin Healthcare he developed the technology strategy from a greenfield position before joining the NHS as CIO for one of the largest hospital trusts in London delivering a £200m digitisation strategy and helping the SE shape its STP programme. As a consultant and NED Scott as helped boards develop and realise their digital transformation strategies across health and social care organisations in the UK and the Middle East.
