Webinar: From Skills Gaps to Future Digital Success
Join NHS digital leaders Jo Miller and Dr Roger Stedman, St. Vincent’s Luminary Advisor Ciara Moore, and Dimple Khagram, Chief Executive of Purple Beard, for a practical discussion about developing the skills and capability needed to support digital transformation.
With existing teams under pressure and many NHS organisations facing skills gaps or relying on external expertise, finding sustainable and financially viable ways to build internal capability is an increasing priority.
Jo and Roger work on the Acute Hospital Alliance (AHA) Shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW). Jo will share learning from its bite-sized Digital Academy, with Ciara contributing insights from the work she has undertaken with BSW to support the academy. Roger will discuss the role of clinical informatics in developing digital capability.
Dimple will share insights from Purple Beard’s experience of delivering digital skills training across the public and private sectors, including its role as the training partner for the FirstLight digital apprenticeship programme.
Attendees will hear practical perspectives on:
- Understanding digital skills and capability gaps
- Using accessible, bite-sized learning
- Developing clinical informatics knowledge and networks
- Building longer-term capability through apprenticeships
- Supporting people from different backgrounds into NHS digital careers
The one-hour webinar will conclude with an audience Q&A.
